Description | Azacyclonol (MER 17) is a drug used to diminish hallucinations in psychotic individuals. |
In vitro | Azacyclonol exhibits an inhibitory effect on the activity of feline cervical sympathetic ganglia by 6.63%. Intravenous injection of Azacyclonol modifies the nictitating membrane's response to postganglionic and preganglionic stimulation. |
In vivo | Azacyclonol affects human hepatic microsomes with apparent Km and Vmax values of 0.82 μM and 60 pmol/min/mg, respectively. In human intestinal microsomes, the formation of azacyclonol is time-dependent, demonstrating linearity up to 60 minutes. The rate of azacyclonol formation increases linearly with microsomal protein concentrations reaching 2 mg/mL. |
