Description Pembrolizumab is a humanized antibody inhibiting the programmed cell death 1 (PD-1) receptor, used in cancer immunotherapy.

In vivo In addition to Melanoma and Lung carcinoma, pembrolizumab has also demonstrated efficacy in other advanced solid tumors and hematologic malignancies. Pembrolizumab had an acceptable side-effect profile and showed antitumor activity in patients with advanced non-small-cell lung cancer[2].
Cell Research
Objective: To examine the effect of high-dose steroid therapy on lymphocyte proliferation/functionality after stimulation with anti-CD3 in the presence of pembrolizumab Concentrations: 5 μg/mL Method: Isolated PBMCs were pre-treated with prednisone (1 nM - 1 mM) before anti-CD3 stimulation. Anti-CD3-stimulated cells were then incubated with pembrolizumab and their proliferative capacity and IL-2 secretion ability were measured by carboxyfluorescein succinimidyl ester (CFSE) staining and ELISA.
