Chloranthaceae

Chloranthaceae is a family of flowering plants (angiosperms), the only family in the order Chloranthales. The family consists of four extant genera, totaling about 77 known species. Plants in the genus Chloranthus (family Chloranthaceae) are widely distributed in eastern Asia, many of which have long been used in Chinese folk medicine. The main chemical constituents of the Chloranthus genus are sesquiterpenoids, with diversified structures. Most of these compounds have good anti-inflammatory, anticancer, antibacterial, and neuroprotective activities.
