Description | Lactisole free acid acts as a typical antagonist of sweet taste receptors, selectively targeting the T1R3 subunit. T1R3 functions as a glucose-sensing receptor. Additionally, Lactisole free acid inhibits insulin secretion induced by glucose in mouse islets. |
In vitro | Lactisole free acid, at concentrations of 3-10 mM over a 48-hour exposure, suppresses insulin secretion induced by Acesulfame-K, Sucralose, and Glycyrrhizin in mouse pancreatic β-cells MIN6, with an IC 50 value of approximately 4 mM. Additionally, a 5 mM concentration of Lactisole free acid administered for the same duration attenuates the increase in cytoplasmic Ca2+ concentration ([Ca2+]c) triggered by Sucralose and Acesulfame-K, without affecting the rise in intracellular cAMP levels ([cAMP]c). |
