YADA (Lucifer Yellow 3-amino-D-alanine) is a green-yellow fluorescent dye formed by conjugating Lucifer yellow with D-alanine. It effectively labels peptidoglycans within the cell walls of actively synthesizing living bacteria. Featuring a large Stokes shift and broad emission spectrum, YADA can be excited with a purple light source and detected through a green filter. It demonstrates excellent water solubility, along with high light and thermal stability.
