TargetMol Mag Beads Epoxy are superparamagnetic functionalized magnetic microspheres. The magnetic core of these microspheres is typically a ferrite material into which reactive epoxy groups are introduced in the outer layer. These epoxy groups are highly reactive and are able to covalently bind to molecules containing amino, sulfhydryl or hydroxyl groups, enabling the coupling of target molecules such as proteins, antibodies, nucleic acids or other biomolecules. In contrast to conventional magnetic beads, they can be used to directly bind a wide range of biological ligands (proteins, peptides, oligonucleotides, drug molecules, etc.) at high loadings for the purpose of encapsulation on the surface of the magnetic beads. The long hydrophilic spacer arm and the mild reaction conditions make the beads particularly suitable for the immobilisation of biologically active macromolecules, and based on these characteristics they can be used in a wide range of biological directions and are an important carrier tool in molecular/cellular biology research.
