Description
[D-Trp11]-Neurotensin is a compound that functions as a selective antagonist of Neurotensin (NT) in perfused rat hearts, while exhibiting full agonist properties in guinea pig atria and rat stomach strips. Additionally, this compound can inhibit hypotension induced by NT.
In vitro
[D-Trp11]-Neurotensin significantly reduces neurotensin (NT)-induced coronary vessel constriction in perfused rat hearts at concentrations ranging from 0.13 to 1.1 µM. Additionally, at higher concentrations (2-110 µM), [D-Trp11]-Neurotensin demonstrates neurotensin-like activity in the same experimental setup[1].
In vivo
[D-Trp11]-Neurotensin administered intravenously at doses ranging from 50 to 500 nmol/kg induces hypotensive effects in rats anesthetized with pentobarbital, exhibiting an effective dose (ED 25) of 122 nmol/kg.
