Description
Cyprocide-B is activated by Cytochrome P450, which converts it into an electrophilic metabolite that selectively kills the nematode C. elegans. This compound holds promise for research into selective nematicidal agents.
In vitro
Cyprocide-B, a selective nematicide, kills a broad spectrum of plant parasitic nematodes more safely than Tioxazafen in zebrafish, when administered at 50 µM for 3 days. Furthermore, at a concentration of 25 µM over 24 hours, Cyprocide-B is bioactivated by CYP-35D1 in C. elegans to produce reactive electrophilic agents.
In vivo
Cyprocide-B, at a concentration of 60 μM administered over 24 hours, demonstrates potential efficacy in preventing M. incognita root infestation in soil environments.
