Description
Euphol acetate, a triterpene found in Euphorbia broteri, has demonstrated inhibitory effects on the hepatic transport proteins known as organic anion-transporting polypeptide 1/3 (OATP1B1/3).
In vitro
Euphol acetate, at a concentration of 10 μM, significantly reduces sodium fluorescein uptake, a known OATP1B substrate, in CHO cells transfected with either OATP1B1 (by 29.2%) or OATP1B3 (by 40.2%)[2].
