Description | Fluorofolin, a dihydrofolate reductase (DHFR) inhibitor, has an inhibitory concentration (IC 50) of 2.5 nM and demonstrates considerable efficacy against P. aeruginosa. |
In vitro | Fluorofolin exhibits potent activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa PA14, with a MIC of 3.1 µg/ml. It also shows broad-spectrum antibiotic activity by inhibiting the growth of two additional Pseudomonas aeruginosa strains, PA01 and ATTC 27853 [1]. Under thymidine supplementation, Fluorofolin's activity demonstrates selectivity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa [1]. |
In vivo | In mice, Fluorofolin demonstrates an effective plasma protein binding rate (71.7% binding, 91.9% recovery). After oral administration, it reaches a peak concentration of 4.0 μg/mL with a half-life of 12.1 hours [1]. |
