Description
Progranulin modulator-3 (compd C40) is an orally active inducer of the precursor granulin protein (PGRN) that can penetrate the blood-brain barrier. It is utilized in neurological research.
In vitro
Progranulin modulator-3 (1-30 μM, 48 h) induces the production of PGRN protein in N2A cells in a dose-dependent manner.
In vivo
Progranulin modulator-3, administered intraperitoneally at a dosage of 10 mg/kg to mice, exhibits a half-life of 41 minutes in both plasma and brain. Its peak concentrations (C max) reach 1498 ng/mL in plasma and 6246 ng/g in brain tissue, significantly elevating PGRN protein levels in the brains of Grn+/− mice.
