α-Glucosidase-IN-15 (Compound 14B), administered orally at 10 and 20 mg/kg body weight for 4 weeks, demonstrated anti-diabetic effects in Streptozotocin-induced diabetic male Wistar albino rats (170–200 g), reducing blood glucose levels and mitigating weight loss. A single oral dose also significantly lowered serum glucose levels post-glucose challenge (3 g/kg). No mortality occurred in mice at 2000mg/kg over 2 weeks, suggesting a favorable safety profile. The compound additionally exhibited antihyperlipidemic activity, significantly reducing serum biomarkers linked to Streptozotocin-induced diabetes.
