In vitro
The IC50 ratio of 5-Fluorouridine 5'-O-β-D-galactopyranoside (5'-O-β-D-galactosyl-5-fluorouridine) to 5-Fluorouridine, evaluated across various in vitro tumor cell lines, varied between 500:1 to 1000:1[1].
In vivo
5-Fluorouridine 5'-O-β-D-galactopyranoside (5'-O-β-D-galactosyl-5-fluorouridine) demonstrates over 100 times less toxicity to bone marrow cells in Balb/c mice compared to 5-Fluorouridine.
