Description
Sagittatoside A (Icariin-A) is a flavonoid glycoside that can be extracted from Herba Epimedii. It induces the phosphorylation of serine 118 in the ERα, selectively activating estrogen response elements (ERE) and luciferase activity.
In vitro
In Sagittatoside A (24h) treatment, the expression of Bax, caspase-9 and caspase-3 in HepG2 cells increased in a concentration-dependent manner, while the expression of Bcl-2 decreased. [1]
In vivo
For 100 μM Sagittatoside A, the zebrafish mortality rate at 4 dpf was 16.7%. [2]
