Antifungalagent 106 (Compound Z31) is a benzoic acid derivative and a potential fungicide targeting Monilinia fructicola. It exhibits antifungal activity with an EC50 of 11.8 mg/L. The mechanism of action involves the disruption of cell membrane integrity, resulting in increased membrane permeability and the release of intracellular electrolytes, which impairs normal mycelial growth. Antifungalagent 106 is also applicable in research related to brown rot in stone fruits.

In vitro | Antifungal agent 106, at concentrations ranging from 3.125 to 50 mg/L, demonstrates inhibitory effects on M. fructicola by suppressing spore germination and mycelial formation. It induces cellular oxidative damage, enzyme inactivation, and cell membrane disruption in M. fructicola by prompting the overproduction of reactive oxygen species (ROS). |
In vivo | When plants (pear) were treated with Antifungal agent 106 at concentrations of 100 mg/L and 200 mg/L and sprayed over a 24-hour period, they exhibited significantly lower incidence rates of brown rot and smaller lesion diameters, indicating that Antifungal agent 106 has inhibitory activity against brown rot in stone fruits. |
