Description
Antitumor agent-70 (compound 8b) is a highly potent multi-targeted kinase inhibitor, particularly targeting c-Kit. It demonstrates remarkable anti-tumor activity and induces cell apoptosis, with strong inhibition of multiple myeloma at an IC50 value of 0.12 μM. Therefore, Antitumor agent-70 holds great potential as an effective therapy for combating cancer, especially in cases involving c-Kit. [1]
In vitro
Antitumor agent-70 (compound 8b), at concentrations ranging from 0 to 50 μM when administered for 24 hours, exhibits potent anti-tumor activity, particularly against the multiple myeloma cell lines RPMI8226 and U266, as well as human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC), with IC50 values of 0.12 μM, 3.81 μM, and 12.09 μM, respectively [1]. When used at lower concentrations (0 to 0.2 μM) over the same duration, it effectively halts cell cycle progression at the G0/G1 phase in RPMI8226 cells and substantially increases the rate of apoptosis, favoring early over late apoptosis, by triggering the release of reactive oxygen species (ROS) [1]. These findings demonstrate its considerable potential in inhibiting cell proliferation and inducing cell death in cancer cells.
