Description
Bencianol is a semisynthetic flavonoid with anti-spasmogenic activities.
In vitro
Bencianol causes a dose-related (1-100 μg/mL) reversal of contractions induced by nor-adrenaline, 5-hydroxytryptamine, angiotensin II, prostaglandin F2a, and U-46619 (a thromboxane-A2 mimetic) [1]. It is more effective against EC50-induced contractions compared to maximal concentrations of each agent and is least effective against U-46619. Additionally, Bencianol (0.1-100 nM) exhibits cytoprotective effects against CCl4-induced cell injury [2].
