Description
Brassinazole is a selective inhibitor of triazole-type steroid (BR) biosynthesis.Brassinazole can be used to modulate the oleuropein steroid (BR) signaling pathway, which is used to regulate plant xylem growth and development.
In vitro
At concentrations of 0.5, 1, and 5 μM, Brassinazole induces marked malformation of seedlings, rendering them morphologically similar to BR-deficient mutants. Cress treated with Brassinazole exhibits dwarfism and altered leaf morphology, characterized by downward curling and a dark green color typical of Arabidopsis BR-deficient mutants. This dwarfism is reversed by the application of 10 nM brassinolide [1].
