Description
BSc3094 is a potent Tau aggregation inhibitor that demonstrates the potential for Alzheimer's disease (AD) research.
In vivo
Administration of BSc3094 (3 mg/kg; i.v.) directly into the ventricular system decreases sarkosyl-insoluble Tau. At doses ranging from 0.075 to 1.5 mM via the same administration route, BSc3094 significantly lowers the levels of sarkosyl-insoluble Tau in cortical extracts, achieving a reduction of approximately 70%. Additionally, BSc3094 effectively ameliorates pre-synaptic dysfunction in organotypic hippocampal slices from pro-aggregant mice, reversing the exacerbation of paired-pulse depression observed in non-treated pro-aggregant Tau slices post-application of a paired-pulse stimulus to the Schaffer collaterals. It also counters the elevation in Tau phosphorylation in rTg4510 mice to normal levels and partially remedies memory deficits observed in these mice.
