In vivo
COX-2-IN-44 (compound 6b) administered orally at a dosage of 10 mg/kg, demonstrated significant anti-inflammatory effects in an animal model utilizing twenty-five adult albino Wistar rats with paw edema [1]. The compound not only decreased paw volume progressively, with percentage reductions in edema recorded at 61.62%, 54.34%, and 44.64% after the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd hour respectively, but also lowered PGE2 plasma levels by 42.6% and reduced IL-1β levels by 32.0%.
