Description
DQn-1, a potent antifolate, demonstrates efficacy against Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) with an MIC 90 of 0.03 µM. It inhibits the DHFR enzyme, exhibiting IC 50 values of 8.7 nM for Mtb DHFR and 7.6 nM for the human counterpart [1].
In vitro
DQn-1 inhibits Mycobacterium tuberculosis with MIC90 values of 0.03 µM and 1 µM, respectively [1].
In vivo
DQn-1, administered orally at dosages of 5-10 mg/kg for 8 days, failed to produce a significant reduction in the Mtb burden in mice [1].
