Ecamsule disodium is a versatile UVA filter compound commonly employed in the formulation of sunscreen products. Its primary role is to mitigate the potential harm posed by solar radiation through the prevention of various biological repercussions induced by UV exposure. These include the inhibition of pyrimidine dimer formation, the reduction of p53 protein accumulation, and the downregulation of collagenase 2 expression.

Description | Ecamsule disodium is a versatile UVA filter compound commonly employed in the formulation of sunscreen products. In vitro | Ecamsule, a broad-spectrum UVA-absorber with optimal absorbance at 344 nm, demonstrates increased sensitivity in wild-type Fibs E6/E7 cells at concentrations ranging from 200-1600 μM. It effectively mitigates UV and AAPH-induced ROS formation in fibroblasts, also reducing basal ROS levels in a dose-dependent manner. Maximum ROS reduction observed is 25.7% at 1600 μM under UV exposure. The same concentration decreases oxidative stress induced by AAPH by 10.8% and lowers basal ROS by 16.9%. Significantly, Ecamsule enhances cell viability at 1600 μM in AAPH-challenged cells. |
