In vivo
Administering Ethotoin via oral gavage at a dosage of 600 mg/kg to pregnant Sprague-Dawley CD rats on gestational day 18 resulted in a preweaning mortality rate of 2.0% and a 6.6% reduction in offspring weight compared to controls, indicating mild mortality and weight loss in the offspring [2].
