Description | Fobrepodacin (SPR720) is an orally active and potent phosphate prodrug of SPR719 (VXc-486) with significant in vivo bactericidal activities. |
In vivo | Fobrepodacin administered through oral gavage at doses of 10, 30, and 100 mg/kg once daily, five days a week for four weeks, significantly reduces the mycobacterial burden in a model of chronic tuberculosis infection in six-week-old female BALB/c and C57BL/6 mice, both uninfected and infected with M. tuberculosis (Erdman). Additionally, a regimen of 100 mg/kg once daily for eight weeks enhances the bactericidal efficacy of antimycobacterial drugs in these models[1]. |
