With its anti-hypoxic properties, hCAI/II-IN-2 demonstrates activity against acute mountain sickness (AMS) and exhibits low cellular activity [1].
In vitro
'hCAI/II-IN-2 (compound 2b) (5-200 μM, 48 hours; HEK293T cells) exhibited no significant cytotoxic effects on HEK293T cells [1]. This was determined through a Cell Cytotoxicity Assay conducted on the embryonic kidney (HEK293T) cell line with compound concentrations ranging from 5 to 200 μM over a 48-hour incubation period, demonstrating no apparent cytotoxicity [1].'
In vivo
In an animal model study using male BLAB/c mice [1], the oral administration of a chemical compound at a dosage of 400 mg/kg over 14 days resulted in a 21.7% increase in survival time compared to the blank control group.
