In vitro
(R)-2-Hydroxyoleic acid ((R)-2-OHOA), also known as idroxioleic acid, effectively inhibited the growth of the A549 lung adenocarcinoma cell line, demonstrating an IC50 value of 252 μM[1].
In vivo
(R)-2-Hydroxyoleic acid (R)-2-OHOA, administered orally at a dosage of 400 mg/kg daily for 21 days, led to a 20-25% decrease in tumor volume[1]. This outcome was observed in a study involving male NUDE (Swiss) Crl:NU(Ico)-Foxn1nu mice, aged 5 weeks and weighing 30-35 g, which were injected with A549 human lung cancer cells[1].
