Description
KW-6055 has anti-amnesic activity, is a benzylpyridine derivative.
In vivo
In rats with basal forebrain lesions, KW-6055 (40 mg/kg, p.o.) significantly elevated the extracellular acetylcholine (ACh) concentration (251±22%) for over two hours, surpassing the duration observed in normal rats. This benzylpyridine derivative exhibits anti-amnesic properties. Additionally, the administration of KW-6055 (40, 160 mg/kg, p.o.) in normal rats resulted in increased extracellular ACh levels (257±23, 202±24%), indicating its potent effect on neurotransmitter regulation.
