Description
Oxytocin antiparallel dimer TFA is a homo peptide dimer connected by a disulfide bridge, exhibiting activities similar to oxytocin and vasopressin but with reduced toxicity [1] [2].
In vitro
The biological activity of parallel and antiparallel, homodimeric/heterodimeric disulfide-linked dimers of oxytocin and deamino-oxytocin ranges from 0.2% to 6% of that of oxytocin [1].
In vivo
Oxytocin dimer, when administered intravenously (静脉注射) as a single dose (单剂量), exhibits lower acute toxicity in rats compared to oxytocin, with an LD50 of 43 mg/kg versus 25 mg/kg [2].
