Description | Sofiniclin (ABT 894) is an agonist of nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR). It is used for the research for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). |
In vitro | Sofiniclin exhibits greater potency than ABT-089 at both receptor subtypes, with Ki values of 1.3 nM for (125I-epibatidine) binding and 1.9 nM for (125I-α-conotoxinMII) binding [1]. |
In vivo | In a comparative study with a vehicle control, Sofiniclin (administered orally at doses ranging from 0.001 to 0.10 mg/kg) significantly decreases Levodopa-Induced Dyskinesia (LIDs) [1]. However, at a dose of 0.1 mg/kg, Sofiniclin does not reduce LIDs in monkeys exhibiting severe nigrostriatal damage [2]. |
