Steroid sulfatase/17β-HSD1-IN-1 is a highly effective inhibitor of steroid sulfatase and 17β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 1 (17β-HSD1) activities, with an IC50 value of 28 nM against cellular human steroid sulfatase. This compound holds significant potential for investigating estrogen-dependent diseases [1].
In vitro
Steroid sulfatase/17β-HSD1-IN-1 (compound 13) exhibits low cytotoxicity, inhibiting HEK-293 cell growth by 12.8% at 20 μM for 48 hours. In T47D cells, it effectively inhibits cell growth and 17β-HSD1 activity in a time-dependent manner at concentrations of 50 to 750 nM over 0 to 25 minutes.
In vivo
Steroid sulfatase/17β-HSD1-IN-1 shows high metabolic stability in the human hepatic S9 fraction, with a half-life (t1/2) of 47 minutes and low intrinsic clearance (Clint) at 15 μL/min/mg protein [1].
