Description
A-893 is a cell-active inhibitor of Methyltransferase SMYD2 (IC50 = 2.8 nM).
In vitro
Treatment with A-893 or AZ505 leads to a decrease in the ratio of p53K370me1 to total p53 levels, with AZ505 prompting a more significant response. Despite A-893 not affecting overall p53 levels, AZ505 results in an unexpected increase of over threefold. Further analysis indicates that A-893 reduces the p53K370me1 methyl mark by 42%, whereas AZ505 achieves a 28% reduction, slightly less effectively [1].
