Topiramate lithium is recognized as an antiepileptic agent that inhibits the propagation of seizures. Its mechanisms have been established to encompass use-dependent inhibition of neuronal voltage-dependent Na+ channels, enhancement of GABA (γ-amino-butyric acid)-mediated Cl- influx, and suppression of inward currents through the antagonism of kainate/alpha-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methylisoxazole-4-propionic acid (AMPA) receptors [2].
