Description | Tubulin inhibitor 17 (Compound 3b) is an inhibitor of tubulin polymerization (IC50 = 12.38 µM) that exhibits anticancer activities and induces cell apoptosis[1]. |
In vitro | Tubulin inhibitor 17 (Compound 3b) exhibits antiproliferative activities against various cancer cell lines and inhibits colony formation of HepG-2 cells within 0-10 μM concentrations over 0-72 hours [1]. It concentration-dependently inhibits tubulin polymerization at 0-2.5 μM and induces microtubule network collapse dose-dependently at 0-1 μM over 12 hours [1]. At 0-5 μM over 24 hours, Tubulin inhibitor 17 induces G2/M phase cell cycle arrest and inhibits HepG-2 cell migration, while at the same concentration over 48 hours, it induces apoptosis in HepG-2 cells [1]. In cell proliferation assays, it demonstrated antiproliferative activities with IC50 values of 0.563 ± 0.099, 0.261 ± 0.025, 2.047 ± 0.168, and 0.609 ± 0.062 μM against B16-F10, HepG-2, HeLa, and MCF-7 cells, respectively, and also inhibited cell viability in a concentration- and time-dependent manner [1]. Cell cycle analysis on HepG-2 cells indicated dose-dependent G2/M phase arrest at 0.5, 1.0, and 5.0 μM over 24 hours [1], and apoptosis analysis indicated a significant increase in apoptotic cells at similar concentrations over 48 hours compared to control [1]. |
