Xanthine oxidase-IN-5 (compound 9m) effectively reduces serum uric acid levels when administered orally at 20 mg/kg in a potassium oxonate-induced hyperuricemic rat model, displaying significant hypouricemic effects within 0.5 to 8 hours post-administration [1].
