Description | BODIPY aminoacetaldehyde (BAAA) is a fluorescent substrate for aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH) and can be used to isolate human hematopoietic stem cells based on ALDH activity. |
In vitro | Based on preliminary titration experiments, cell lines were labeled with 20 μM BODIPY aminoacetaldehyde, and mononuclear UCB cells were labeled with 1 μM BODIPY aminoacetaldehyde for 30 min. Staining was inhibited by DEAB, confirming that the fluorescence emission of the BODIPY aminoacetaldehyde -stained UCB was the result of ALDH activity. The BODIPY aminoacetaldehyde -stained UCB exhibited two distinct peaks of fluorescence emission. [1] |
