In vitro
A mouse cell stained with Di-8-ANEPPS, voltage-clamped, and immersed in Na+-containing solution showed an asymmetrical positive Di-8-ANEPPS signal upon depolarizing pulses, with the signal peaking at 0.3 ms after the pulse's leading edge.
