Description
2',3'-Dideoxyadenosine is an inhibitor of HIV replication, exhibiting antiretroviral activity and antiviral efficacy [1].
In vitro
2',3'-Dideoxyadenosine effectively inhibits the replication of HIV-1, simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV), and murine sarcoma virus (MSV) across various cell lines. In MT-4 cells, it shows EC50 values of 5.27 μM for HIV-1 and 5.3 μM for SIV. It also inhibits HIV-1 and HIV-2 in human T-lymphocyte CEM cells with EC50 values of 4 μM and 8 μM, respectively, and achieves similar inhibitory effects in Molt 4/C8 and C8166 cells, with EC50 values ranging from 4 μM to 22 μM for both viruses. Furthermore, it demonstrates inhibition against MSV in C3H/3T3 cells with an EC50 of 24 μM.
