Description | DMP 696 is a selective antagonist of corticotropin-releasing hormone receptor 1. It is used for the treatment of anxiety and depression. |
In vivo | DMP696 treatment decreases levels of LA and BLA pCREB to homecage pCREB levels across all time intervals. DMP696 (3 mg/kg, p.o.) attenuates consolidation of remote fear memories in mice, without affecting expression and retention. Rats treated with DMP696 (1, 3, 10, 30 mg/kg) show minimal freezing during a 2-minute preshock interval. WT mice treated with DMP696 for 1 week starting 24 hours after foot shock display reduced synaptosomal GluR1 levels compared to shocked vehicle-treated controls [1]. DMP696 significantly reduces CREB phosphorylation in LA and BLA but not in CeA. In the CeA, both vehicle- and DMP696-treated rats exhibit higher pCREB expression post-conditioning compared to homecage pCREB levels. Rats in the 30 ng DMP696 group exhibit significantly less freezing compared to vehicle-treated animals [2]. |
