S-MGB-234 is a minor groove binder used for treating Animal African Trypanosomiasis (AAT). In vitro | S-MGB-234 (compound 7), with an exposure duration of 69 hours, exhibits non-toxic behavior towards L6 cells, demonstrating an effective concentration (EC 50) of 20.39 μM[1]. |
In vivo | S-MGB-234 (compound 7) effectively cures and prevents relapses in mice (cured/infected, 4/4) with two 50 mg/kg intraperitoneal (i.p.) doses. A partial cure (1/4) is achieved with four consecutive daily i.p. treatments of 10 mg/kg, while two 10 mg/kg i.p. doses do not cure but extend survival compared to untreated controls[1]. |
