Description
Tropodifene is an inhibitor of the α-Adrenergic receptor.
In vivo
The tropaphen (Tropaphen) effect of this compound consistently alleviates diseases characterized by peripheral vessel spasms through its pronounced adrenolytic and vasodilatory actions, effectively decreasing the tone of peripheral vessels. Starting at a dosage of 0.1 mg/kg, the compound exhibits significant efficacy. At a higher dosage of 0.25 mg/kg, it induces a substantial and progressive reduction in perfusion pressure by 30-35%, maintaining this reduced level for 90-100 minutes. Furthermore, a dose of 0.5 mg/kg results in a more pronounced decrease in perfusion pressure by 40-45%, with the reduced pressure persisting for 120 minutes or longer. Notably, strong vasodilation is evident following the administration of tropaphen to intact rabbits.
