Demonstrating antidepressant effects in rodent models, MAO-B-IN-4 is suitable for research into Alzheimer's disease [1].
In vitro
MAO-B-IN-4, at a concentration of 0.25 μM when exposed to 0.5μM DOX for 24 hours, exhibited significant neuroglial protective effects in cultured astrocytic cell models [1].
In vivo
MAO-B-IN-4 (1 and 3 mg/kg, orally, 2 h) can prevent scopolamine-induced short-term memory impairment [1]. MAO-B-IN-4 (0.312-2.5 mg/kg, intravenous injection, 1 h) exhibits antidepressant-like properties in mice during the forced swim test [1].
