Description
5-A-RU hydrochloride (5-Amino-6-(D-ribitylamino)uracil hydrochloride) is an intermediate of bacterial riboflavin that activates mucosal-associated invariant T cells (MAIT).5-A-RU is used in the study of breast and prostate cancer.
In vitro
5-A-RU hydrochloride (2 μM) can be used to stimulate human MAIT cells and produce MR1 tetramers for identification of human and mouse MAIT cells[1].
In vivo
When 5-A-RU hydrochloride (100 nM; i.p.; 18 hours) and MeG were mixed ex tempore prior to in vivo injection, MAIT cells in iVα19 Cα−/−-Tg mice were activated[2].
