2-Arachidonylglycerol (2-AG), a cannabinoid ligand obtained from intestinal tissue, functions as a full agonist in activating neuronal cannabinoid receptors. It impedes the development of long-term potentiation at CA3-CA1 synapses and, by binding to cannabinoid receptors, produces effects characteristic of cannabinoid drugs[1].
