Description | Aristeromycin is an adenosine analog and an antibiotic and. It is a potent S-adenosylhomocysteine hydrolase (AHCY) inhibitor. |
In vitro | Aristeromycin exhibits an IC50 of 38.5 nM against AHCY at 50 μM S-adenosylhomocysteine (SAH) (approximately equal to the Km of 48 μM), and an increased IC50 of 271 nM at 1000 μM SAH (20× Km). Preincubation for 60 minutes reduces the IC50 value at 50 μM SAH to 12.7 nM. Additionally, Aristeromycin demonstrates IC50 values of 3.2 μM and 0.88 μM for inhibiting the growth of LNCaP-FGC and LNCaP-hr cells, respectively. It also appears to modulate oncogenic EZH2 expression, partially through the induction of miR-26a [1]. |
