Description
Prifelone (R 830) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory compound with antioxidant activity.
In vitro
R-830 inhibited guinea pig lung lipoxygenase in a concentration-related manner. The approximate IC50 for R-830 is 2 x 10 -5 M.[1]
R-830 produced inhibition of peanut oil auto-oxidation at concentrations of 0.5%.[1]
In vivo
R-830 (0.3-20 mg/kg), a di-tert-butylphenol for its efficacy in reducing the pre-existing swelling of the inflamed hind paws and promoting body weight gain in dose-response effects was obtained.[1]
