Bioactivity

Description	Cefacetrile (Cephacetrile) is a broad-spectrum cephalosporin antibiotic with antimicrobial activity and can be used to study Gramnegative infections, acting in the same way as cefotifen.
In vitro	Inhibiting Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes, cefacetrile is effective at concentrations less than 1 μg/mL[4].
In vivo	Administered subcutaneously at doses of 50, 100, and 500 mg/kg, cefacetrile does not alter fertility, gestation, and post-natal development of term fetuses in rats, and fertility and gestation in rabbits[3].At an intravenous dose of 1 g/kg, cefacetrile produces no nephrotoxicity in rabbits and rats[2].
