Description
FPA-124, a cell-permeable copper complex and selective Akt inhibitor with an IC50 of 0.1 μM, engages the pleckstrin homology (PH) and kinase domains of Akt, inducing apoptosis.
In vitro
FPA-124 demonstrates dose-dependent growth inhibition in various cancer cell lines with IC50 values of 7 μM in BT20, 10 μM in PC-3, 34 μM in COLO 357, and 55 μM in BxPC-3.
In vivo
FPA-124 demonstrates inhibitory effects on PKB (Akt protein) and leads to the inactivation of NF-κB within a validated orthotopic pancreatic tumor model utilizing COLO 357 cells.
