Description | Indanidine is a highly selective and potent α-adrenergic agonist with antihypertensive activity.Indanidine is an α-adrenergic antagonist that can be used in the study of neurological disorders. |
In vivo | The selective alpha 1-adrenoceptor agonist, Indanidine, exhibited partial agonist behavior in the aorta without inducing significant contractions in the small mesenteric artery. Considering that Idazoxan and Indanidine have been reported to increase blood pressure in pithed rats via vascular alpha 1-adrenoceptors, these findings question the reliability of the small mesenteric artery assay as a predictor for in vivo alpha 1-adrenoceptor-mediated pressor activity[1]. |
