Description
Antimalarial agent 44 (Compound 3) is an antiparasitic agent effective against malaria. It exhibits good permeability in MDCK-MDR1 cell monolayers and has a high clearance rate in mouse liver microsomes.
In vitro
Antimalarial agent 44 exhibits inhibitory effects against Leishmania infantum, Plasmodium falciparum, Trypanosoma brucei brucei, Trypanosoma brucei rhodesiense, and Trypanosoma cruzi with EC 50 values of 1.8, 3, 15, 9.1, and 20 μM, respectively. At pH 7.4, this compound demonstrates favorable cellular permeability in MDCK-MDR1 cell monolayers, achieving a Papp AB of 3.5 μcm/s. Moreover, Antimalarial agent 44 is efficiently cleared in mouse liver microsomes at pH 7.4, with an intrinsic clearance (CLint) greater than 580 μL/min/mg.
