Safotibant (LF-22-0542) is a bradykinin B1 receptor antagonist with anti-inflammatory and analgesic activity for the topical treatment of diabetic macular edema.
In vivo
LF22-0542 (1% in saline; eye drop; twice a day for 7 days; diabetic rats) significantly reduced Retinal plasma extravasation, leukostasis, and mRNA levels of B(1)R, iNOS, COX-2, VEGF receptor type 2, IL-1β and HIF-1α to the control value level.[1]
